His aviation formation in the Portuguese Air Force established the discipline, preparation and respect for procedure that would follow him throughout his career.
An airline career beginning in July 1988 connected aircraft, crews, passengers and destinations across nearly four decades, culminating in a final working flight home from Brazil.
Photography gave him another way to hold onto aircraft, changing weather and the perspective that only a life around flight can offer.
